Getting to Georgetown

Getting to campus, for families near and far.

We are excited to welcome the friends and families of our graduates to the Hilltop campus. Here are some important travel tips to consider as you plan to attend your Georgetown University’s Commencement ceremonies.

Driving to campus?

We strongly recommend that you take a taxi or ride share to campus, as roads may be busier than usual and parking on campus is limited. If you do decide to drive to campus, here are some resources to help you out.

Tips for travel

  • Please allot extra time for travel to campus, as delays could occur on the roads leading to the University.
  • We urge you to consider taking a taxi or ride share to campus due to limited parking. We recommend getting dropped off at 35th & N, O or P Streets, NW to avoid unnecessary congestion.
  • Georgetown University provides shuttle service (GUTS) from Dupont and Rosslyn areas during the week. There will be special Saturday service from Rosslyn only, 7 a.m – 9:30 p.m.
  • In the event of inclement weather, commencement ceremonies may be moved. You may visit the Commencement home page or call the University Weather Line at (202) 687-7669 to confirm ceremony locations.
  • Campus Maps will be available on campus at the Program Tent in Healy Circle. We also have a printable campus map available.
  • Free accessible shuttle buses will be available to escort people from the parking facilities to the graduation site. The shuttles will stop at various places around campus and will run on the following schedule:
