Class of 2022 Commencement Schedule

Below you will find the schedule for the main commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2022. The full schedule, to include Tropaia ceremonies and receptions, can be viewed and downloaded here (updated 5/11/22). Academic Processions for all Commencement ceremonies begin approximately 30 minutes before the posted ceremony time. Guests should be seated before the procession begins. Proof of up to date vaccinations is required for all indoor events. Public health guidance will continue to be updated in the FAQ section.

Ceremony Livestreams

Significant Heat Expected

Please be aware that significant early-season heat is expected during Commencement weekend, and take precautions to stay cool and hydrated:

  • Cooling Stations: Cooling misting fans have been placed at several locations around Healy Lawn and Healy Circle.
  • Hydrating Stations: Water stations have been set up along major walkways on campus.
  • Indoor viewing: Several locations on campus have been prepared for guests who would like the option to view the ceremony livestream indoors instead of sitting outside. Guests will find seating and livestreams displayed in the Maguire Hall 101 and 103 classrooms (access via the 1st floor of Healy Hall) and the Reiss Science Building 103 auditorium.

Academic Regalia

Academic regalia for undergraduate and graduate programs can be purchased in person or online from the University bookstore. If seniors have their robe from their New Student Convocation, they only have to purchase their cap/tassel and hood, otherwise, they should purchase the whole package. Graduates from professional programs will receive guidance on academic regalia directly from the Law and Medical schools.

What is Tropaia?

Tropaia essentially means Trophy and the Tropaia Ceremony is the event at which individual schools distribute awards. Each Dean’s office will inform students individually if they are receiving an award at this event.

The word Tropaia is ancient Greek and referred to a monument constructed to celebrate a military victory.
